Nevada Afterschool Network (NAN) is part of the 39 states funded by the C.S. Mott Foundation for Statewide Afterschool Networks. NAN is a vehicle for bringing together policymakers, educators, childcare providers, youth development workers, program developers, advocates, parents and others interested in improving outcomes for children and youth through school-linked out-of-school time programs. NAN's focus is on actively coordinating, engaging and influencing key decision makers to support school-linked afterschool/out-of-school-time (OST) programs that support the success of children and young people in all of Nevada's 17 counties.

NAN is seeking a Rural Regional Representative

NAN is seeking a Rural Regional Representative to be on the Board of Directors. The responsibilities include:

  • Articulate a regional, state and national vision for a strong Out of School Time (OST) System.
  • Possess a commitment to develop a strong OST leadership regionally and statewide.
  • Assist in recruiting regional members and engage individuals in committee work.
  • Work with NAN staff in facilitating regional meetings.
  • Communicate the work of NAN to the regional membership and bring the voice of the membership to NAN.

The time commitment is approximately 5 hours per month.

The National PTA has released the Parents' Guide to Student Success that promotes the Common Core State Standards.
