Afterschool For All Challenge!
This year, for the first time, the Afterschool Alliance's Afterschool for All Challenge was held in conjunction with Be the Change, the National Afterschool Association's annual convention. The combined event was held in Washington, D.C. from April 19 to April 21. On April 20th Nevada advocates spoke to staff representatives from Dean Heller’s, Shelly Berkley and Dina Titus office; as well as, Senator Ensign and Senator Reid’s. Chemical Recreation Sticks
Chemical Recreation Sticks(glow sticks) use energy from a chemical reaction to create light. The chemical reaction is made by mixing multiple chemical compounds. Theses chemical compounds include Hydrogen Peroxide oxidizes and phenyl oxalate ester and food coloring.
